Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 168 - They said what was news?

One of the great joys of commuting, apart from its ridiculous broadsheet size which admittedly caused problems on crowded trains, was reading the Sydney Morning Herald.

There was so much news, opinion, features that getting through it on a commute was a real challenge.

Not so now. It is slimmer, almost devoid of real news and in the great race to the bottom that all of the media seems to be engaging in lately as we get so busy we can't appreciate quality anymore - or so the idiot media barons think - inclined to rampant tabloidism ... like this ...

Yes a story on why you have bad hair days made page 2 of the Herald. Seriously.

The world is an utter joke ...

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 140 - Hello groggy morning and au revoir mon cher Kerry

Had to go to work for 4 hours (but made easier by commuting in with my guy who was in town! Yay!) - yes the morning after Eurovision when I am normally not at my best; however I cut down on what I drank last night to make this morning a little more gentle - to meet Leona, the new marketing person from Melbourne, who turned out to be just delightful.

Managed to extract myself from work at 1.30, headed straight home to a lunch of Eurovision leftovers (meatballs, chips ... yes so healthy!) while Kerry finished off the herring and then with Kerry's support crashed out for a "short" nap ... which took 1 3/4 hours! LOL

I wanted to spend time with Kerry before she went but she understood how tired I was ... then off to the airport via Marrickville Metro - I need an ironing board cover ... exciting days! - to send Kerry off home ... always sad to see her go and have Eurovision finish ...

Steve came around for dinner about 8 and we had a lovely snuggle watching TV before he headed home to get ready for an early morning trip to Bathurst ...

Posing in the "Hall of Memories" - the flags of hosts of Eurovisions past ... a fitting last shot before we left for the airport

Then worked till 2pm then off to the dentist for a good cleaning with the lovely Emma via train to Bondi Junction then taxi to Randwick and back again ... alas she found a filling so back tomorrow at 4.10 :(

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 113 - Morning ... and night

On the way to work, looking out to the Bridge from my train at Circular Quay ...

... and then a view of King Street from the booth - yes we got the booth! - from Sushi Train in Newtown after we watched "Sleepwalk With Me" ...

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 78 - Read later ... will I though?

My usual saving all the things I want to read later off Twitter via photos as Echofon doesn't seem to have a favourites option which is weird. I save most things via Instapaper but some links like YouTube videos etc won't save as anything other than generic links, which are useless, hence the pix.

Alas what usually happens is most things slip into a limbo abyss and never get read.

Glad I am still so optimistic that I think I will get to them though ...

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 35 - Across the Bridge (But Not Back Again)

The trains went to crap this morning.

Overhead wires got tangled on a train at Waverton and they had to shut down the Northern Line.

Foreseeing chaos at the bus stands at Wynyard - as it turned out Cityrail could only muster 30 buses at short notice so I was quite prescient ... or perhaps I just know Cityrail? - I got off at Cityrail, and walked up through The Rocks to Argyle Street and then along the Bridge.

Fortunately it was a very cool morning, and I enjoyed the slow walk, the gorgeous view, tweeting all the way and of course taking photos.

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 173 - Cold morning ... warm evening with my guy

Cold, damn cold this morning but my scarf kept me toasty warm ...

After a walk with Waz that night, I was picked up by my guy and we had dinner at Happy Chef on King Street followed by a snuggly romantic walk along King Street ...

Bliss.

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 158 - Waiting at the station with Aidan

Waiting for the 7.17 train with Aidan and I thought why not capture a part of my daily routine that would otherwise go unnoticed. So here's St Peters station from the position of standing down on the platform...
