Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 121: BUSY DAY!

Walking in the morning with Waz ...

Then Helen sent me an example of Zara's fabulous colouring in which got them free tickets to see Muppets Most Wanted ...

Then Kerry sent the 10 days til Ooro-vision text!!!

Then I sent this tweet from train on the way home from work ...

Had some chocolate and wine with Aidan at the end of a very long day ...

And finally in early hours of the morning, when insomnia struck again, I had this very affirming conversation with Irma from Sweden via Twitter ... so worth it really if I could help her ...

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 140 - Hello groggy morning and au revoir mon cher Kerry

Had to go to work for 4 hours (but made easier by commuting in with my guy who was in town! Yay!) - yes the morning after Eurovision when I am normally not at my best; however I cut down on what I drank last night to make this morning a little more gentle - to meet Leona, the new marketing person from Melbourne, who turned out to be just delightful.

Managed to extract myself from work at 1.30, headed straight home to a lunch of Eurovision leftovers (meatballs, chips ... yes so healthy!) while Kerry finished off the herring and then with Kerry's support crashed out for a "short" nap ... which took 1 3/4 hours! LOL

I wanted to spend time with Kerry before she went but she understood how tired I was ... then off to the airport via Marrickville Metro - I need an ironing board cover ... exciting days! - to send Kerry off home ... always sad to see her go and have Eurovision finish ...

Steve came around for dinner about 8 and we had a lovely snuggle watching TV before he headed home to get ready for an early morning trip to Bathurst ...

Posing in the "Hall of Memories" - the flags of hosts of Eurovisions past ... a fitting last shot before we left for the airport

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 137 - Eurovision weekend day 1

Kerry arrived last night ready for a BIG Eurovision weekend and tonight we sat down to watch Semi-Final 1.

Alas without Steve who went to Melbourne for sister-in-law Sue's 50th birthday shindig. I felt so bad that I couldn't go but Kerry had already bought her ticket and it is after all a weekend we plan for all year.

Thankfully we got some shots in before he raced to the airport :)

We had a ball! Ate a stir fry I cooked, drank some wine (well I did) and critiqued our way through the acts.

Here's my review of Semi-Final 1. (WE also watched the Julia Zemiro dock, The Heart of Eurovision, which was on before the show.)

And here are my tweets from the night ...

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 69 - Kerry in town 2

Out and about in Newtown watching "Barbara" and eating yummy food at Tamana's with Kerry, Waz and Fahmi ... I even managed a quick trip to MagNation to get my "Entertainment Weekly" mags.

Wonderful day.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 68 - Running around town with the lovely Kerry and my guy

Big busy but wonderful day.

10.45 Brunch at Mezes Cafe in Brighton le Sands with Susie, Ellen, Tracy, Kerry and my guy. Great food and non stop conversation and Ellen introduced us to the Squirrelizer which adds a random squirrel into your photos. Such fun!

1pm Drive back to  Sydney Park Road, parked the car and got the 1.35 train and made it to the 2pm entry for the Alexander the Great exhibition. It was fascinating. The story of Alexander put in the historical context of the time. Brilliantly done and fascinating enough to spend 3 hours at by which time I simply wanted a drink and a piece of banana bread at the cafe at St James station.

Then we had a brief break back home before heading out for dinner at Oldtown in Newtown, where the food and service was, as always, delicious.

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 281 - We're off and running!

After the BIG night we had on Saturday night and the late arrival to bed, we were all a little slow on the uptake this morning.

Even so an Aspro Clear or two I was up and at 'em, ready for a day out with Kerry and Jason and my gorgeous guy.

Unfortunately Kerry was feeling quite zonked so elected to stay put on the lounge and watch her favourite shows - Insiders, Inside Business and Offsiders, and it turns out the Bathurst motor race (found out her dad was a racing car driver so she grew up around it! Who knew? Not me) so Jason, Steve, Fahmi and I headed out to Southend for brunch which was fab as usual.

Back home to quickly grab my light Kenji jacket as it was a tad nippy before Jason and I headed up to Newtown to wander through the shops - found out my favourite sci fi author has a new book I must wait till late November to read (yep it's now a birthday present suggestion) before Steve joined us again (he whipped home to run some errands) at 2.30 for Ruby Sparks, a movie I had been really wanting to see and LOVED. (Had a quick drink in Zanzibar before hand - just a Coke for my poor alcohol-addled body.)

Then back home to pick up Kerry, who was well-rested, and dinner at Matee, my favourite Turkish restaurant. Off to the airport to farewell both my gorgeous friends and then home to sleep ... LOTS.
