FINALLY took the last of the Eurovision party decs down. Aidan liked having them up and they did give the place a bit of fun! But everything has to end sometime ...

Some of the streamers came down today as they were dropping so low we risked choking ourselves but everything else stayed put. We had fun with the stuff that did come down and got arty with some of the shots.

I spent my day binge watching episodes of The Blacklist and Marvel's Agents of Shield (most of the latter on my laptop thanks to Kris) and apparently taking pics of the Eurovision 2014 decorations.

Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 133: Clean up

In the aftermath of Eurovision and the stress of being in my 10th month of unemployment taking a heavy toll, I crashed and burned today (and for the rest of the week), cutting back blog posts to just 4 (6 less than normal) of which was already done, and managing only to clean up a little and watch TV and sleep.

Looks like even I can only cope with so much.

One big cheer up was getting this adorable shot of my now 1 year old niece Jordan exploring at home!

After drinking a LOT last night, I was a teensy-weensy bit tired today as was Kerry (though she wisely remained largely sober) so we mutually decided to stay home, eat leftover pastizzis and other party food, and watched various episodes of the Law and Order franchise.

Then Fahmi picked us up at 5.30 and took Kerry to the airport for her flight.

It was sad to see her go and amazing to think it'd been 72 hours since she'd arrived but we had a WONDERFUL weekend!

Oh and we watched Ellen too of course!

Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 131: Eurovision 2014 Day 3

The BIG finals party tonight with decorations all done, after lots of work and cleaning and cooking during the day - Steve spent the afternoon at his place getting the glitter flag ready among other things - and everyone here en masse (bar a few late cancellations).

For some reason, the conversation was WAY louder this year and hence the TV was way louder and at 10.30 when Justin and Sunny left, there was security at the door. We had attracted some complaints! Woohoo! Street cred. So we turned down the volume, closed the windows and watched the voting in relative quiet (c'mon it's Eurovision, we weren't that quiet! LOL)

It was such a fun night!
