Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 120 - Grimm- faced and Defiance-like

After my friend Sammi cancelled dinner tonight due to (a) forgetting about our appointment (hey I've done it too; life is busy! and (b) having too much work anyway, I decided to head home, cook up some honey sesame chicken Kan Tong saucy thing and watched an episode of Defiance and one of Grimm with Aidan.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 116 - Shopping fiesta!

Was planning to see a movie then lunch with my friend Jason then shopping with Waz in Newtown on my day off ... instead the day went something like ...

Blogged my review of Sleepwalk With Me while Steve slept (from about 8.30-10am) - amazing how waiting a few days can trigger my brain to work out what it wants to say exactly! - then while Steve showered made toast for breakfast and then when Steve had headed back home to work for the day, had a nap (slept badly that night) instead of lunch with Jason as he was still feeling unwell then woke to text from Waz saying he was shopping already ...

What?! Oh no, so hightailed it up to King St for one of those lovely shopping arvos Waz and I used to do all the time ... lots of clothes, and Swedish-coloured towels for Eurovision ... with lunch at The Italian Bowl (ate there for the first time and LOVED it) ...

Then back home for an hour and went walking with Waz around Erko before shower and dinner with Steve in Dulwich Hill at Minh's ...

Fab day!

Jordan meet the world! My new niece is born and all is well!

My niece Jordan, sister to Bodhi and 2nd child for my sister Rachel and husband Michael was born today and all is well! She is ADORABLE and loved the photos I was texted (first one of her at all came via my brother Steve) and emailed (next 3 via my mum) ...

Email from Mum:

Hi Andy, Helen said she texted you about Jordan Charlotte. Gorgeous, little round face with lots of black hair.
She was 3.35 Kg and 49 cm (the same as Bodhi – that is length – he was a little heavier). He was excited about
Sissy – happy to go with Helen, Shane and Zara, though asked Rachel, “Aren’t you coming Mummy?”
Accepted Mummy needed to rest in hospital.
Attached are 3 photos.   Lots of love, Mum and Dad

Last day before going on a 4 day weekend and as usual CRAZY BUSY MAD FRANTIC.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 112 - Meatballs!

No, not the kind that fall from the sky thank goodness!

Just some Morrocan veal meatballs I made last night for dinner for Steve and my housemate Aidan (washed down with a Yalumba Cabernet Sauvignon and some Dolce Dio Easter white chocolate ... yes we're still eating up the giant white bunny!) and like many dishes, it was even better the next day.

Happy 73rd birthday mum!

Love you much!

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 110 - Cleaned the house

Lovely day at home.

After brunch with my gorgeous guy and Waz, and ducking some torrential rain - I doggedly went and got the mail and The Sydney Morning Herald even though my umbrella wasn't keeping me quite dry enough - I spent the afternoon reading, blogging, napping and cleaning up my room, including finally putting away my Easter tree. Hurrah!

Finished the day off with Thai from Doy Tao and Travertine verdelho white wine while watching last week's Dr Who episode "Cold War", which was reasonably good (more than can be said for many of them lately) with Steve snuggled up against me which was wonderful.
