Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 158 - Waiting at the station with Aidan

Waiting for the 7.17 train with Aidan and I thought why not capture a part of my daily routine that would otherwise go unnoticed. So here's St Peters station from the position of standing down on the platform...

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 131 - The walk to work

I have a short five minute walk from Milson's Point station to where I work which takes me through a park which has all sorts of markers to the homes that used to stand there before the Bridge and freeway went through. One of the things I see every morning is this statue of a dog (must find out the story and update this entry) in Bradfield Park, and people often places flowers in its mouth. No idea why but it makes him look uncharacteristically blood thirsty.

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 130 - A perfect day

Yes another harbour shot. I know, I know...

Nut the day was beautiful and I still glory in a view that is so much nicer than the one I had at Optus, which was a car park.

Hence my obsession with photographing my new view.

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 129 -

Lovely day catching up with friends.

Lunch with Bridget who I met via a course she & I did at the Sydney Writers' Centre at Icoco Cafe up on Alfred Street, Milson's Point. She is so vivacious and vital and a joy to chat with.

Then off to the City for a movie date with my favourite pop culture loving friend (another friend from Optus days), Lisa P. We saw The Five Year Engagement, which started and ended well but was indifferent in the middle bulk of the movie - you an read my review here - ate lollies (me), ice cream (her) and a lovely catch up over sushi afterwards.

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 106 - Tapas teamwork

Everyone from work gathered at Cheeky Monkey cooking school today for a tapas cooking class along with about 12-13 other people. It was paid for by my lovely boss Valerie to thank everyone for their hard work with the Best Australian Blogs competition last year.

It was so much fun! The presenter, Rachel and her assistants Justin and Emma were lots of fun, the recipes were delicious and wonderfully easy to cook, and we had so much fun as a team cooking them. Plus we got to wear nifty chef's hats with our names on, drink champers at the beginning and eat everything we cooked for lunch.

An awesome time.

This is the best way to get skins off red capsicums

The capsicum down the line and ready to eat

The mussels were delicious

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 96 - All things bunny!

Big day of Easter-ness at work!

I brought in Kinder and Lindt bunnies (they got on very well despite being of vastly different qualities of chocolate) for everyone and left them on their desks, just like the old days at Optus...

Then off to Kirribilli to buy hot cross buns from the lovely green bakery there with a stop on the way back to get Cadbury Marshmallow Chocolate Eggs for Rose and me (inspired by a tweet) and some Cadbury Creme Eggs (can you believe I hadn't had any up till this point?!)...

We opened a package from a PR company who had promised the day before they were sending "something yummy". Naturally we expected something lavish and chocolatey. What did we get? Organic mashed avocado and corn chips. Tasted quite delicious actually but not at all what you'd think someone would deliver right before Easter...

Then we sat down, after Valerie had arrived, for the hot cross buns, some pink champers, beetroot chips, fruit flans (provided by Maydah at the cafe)...

Then we gathered all the Lindt bunnies together and I tweeted that they were "a cabal of bunnies gathered just before their imminent demise"...

All of it topped with a view of the City skyline before going to a taping of Randling, a new show produced by Andrew Denton on the ABC (with my gorgeous guy and Danielle from work) and four glorious days off...

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 86 - Snap Crackle Pop Rock!

My lovely boss, Valerie, came back ton work today after just over 2 weeks in the USA for business, and as well as a very cool R2D2 USB stick, she brought back a jumbo packet of Pop Rocks, packed full of every flavour under the sun!

They're these weird carbonated sugary treats that kind of explode in your mouth. Here's how I described them on Twitter today:

At a co-worker's (Rose) suggestion, I also sprinkled them on the yummy passionfruit cupcakes she brought in today and the taste sensation was awesome.

I love working here!
