Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 154: Cupcakes yum!

Finally baked the out of date apple and cinnamon cupcake mix and they were YUM! Aidan, who was working from home, agreed heartily. (Froze two for Steve so he could enjoy them when he got back from Bathurst).

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 309 - Gee up horsies! (Melbourne Cup)

I was feeling quite sad late last week that I didn't have a job - that happens at regular intervals - and wasn't especially depressed I wouldn't get to do Melbourne Cup with anyone. In past years at Optus and AWC, it was a big deal and so I asked Justin to come over and after a busy morning looking for jobs and blogging, I sat down with him for extra lean beef sangers, cupcakes, champagne and lots of talking. It was a marvellous afternoon and while none of my or Justin's horses won, we had a ball.

Susie bought me these cupcakes yesterday which was unexpected and delightful (she noticed how shocked I was at the prices)

Leftover from Steve's 50th birthday celebrations so free - YAY!

Sausages already in the freezer so free there too!

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 346 - Christmas cupcakes

I bought 4 of the leftover Christmas cakes - SO CUTE! - that Tricia left with me after the picnic and gave them to Valerie (reindeer), Tracy (elf) and Danielle (holly).

They LOVED them and they got tweeted from Valerie's account, Tracy's account and the AWC one which I handle.

Thanks Tricia!

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 311 - Giddy up horsie!

The race that stops a nation came around AGAIN - seriously where is this year going?! - so we stopped for a few hours Tuesday afternoon (Tracy and I bought chips and dips and champagne at IGA that morning; grabbed the cupcakes from My Little Cupcake just before lunch), ate way too much, didn't drink so much, and had one of those great bonding sessions that these sorts of days are made for.

And my gorgeous guy got a horse, Fiorente, at his work for $1 and it came second! Yes, I got $6 back! Rich, rich I tell you!! (We - Tracy, Valerie, Rambo & I -watched the race, which was won by Green Moon, at Maydah's cafe in the building.)

It made for a fun day ...

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 143 - Thai and cupcakes...

Fun lunchtime picnic at work of Thai and then cupcakes to celebrate Valerie and Rose's birthdays the week before, and all our hard work of late. Fun!

Then I met up with my gorgeous friend Sammi from working at Optus days and we had a blast eating dumplings (only sour note was all the awful redundancies inflicted on people I knew well and worked with) and Mother's crepes. YUM!

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 115 -

Sunny morning led to a freaking storm that lasted a bare 20 minutes before dissipating.

Then after an extremely busy day of finalising research for Valerie's book and proofing it, and reading almost 110 blogs for the Best Australian Blogs competition, we stopped for champagne and cupcakes. A perfect way to wind down for a mid week public holiday.

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 86 - Snap Crackle Pop Rock!

My lovely boss, Valerie, came back ton work today after just over 2 weeks in the USA for business, and as well as a very cool R2D2 USB stick, she brought back a jumbo packet of Pop Rocks, packed full of every flavour under the sun!

They're these weird carbonated sugary treats that kind of explode in your mouth. Here's how I described them on Twitter today:

At a co-worker's (Rose) suggestion, I also sprinkled them on the yummy passionfruit cupcakes she brought in today and the taste sensation was awesome.

I love working here!

Hands Full of Glitter and Tofu : 2011 Day 315 - TGIF and cupcakes

Busy day at work but laksa for lunch, and rewarded mid afternoon by DELICIOUS cupcakes cooked by my colleague Rose.

Accompanied by tea, talk and laughter.

A lovely end to the working week.
