Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 156 - Finally caught up with the very lovely Sammi!

Finally caught up with Sammi for the first time all year - we talked LOTS, ate tons of dumplings at Taste of Shanghai, had some yoghurt, laughed, talked seriously, funnily ... had a ball and I didn't get home till 10.30.

FABULOUS!!

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 143 - Thai and cupcakes...

Fun lunchtime picnic at work of Thai and then cupcakes to celebrate Valerie and Rose's birthdays the week before, and all our hard work of late. Fun!

Then I met up with my gorgeous friend Sammi from working at Optus days and we had a blast eating dumplings (only sour note was all the awful redundancies inflicted on people I knew well and worked with) and Mother's crepes. YUM!

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 87 - Dumpling my precious dumpling

My gorgeous guy, who is normally in Bathurst on a Tuesday night was in town thanks to a course and so we got to have dinner in Newtown together. We actually managed to get a table at Dumpling King restaurant, after a drink at The bank Hotel, and while the dumplings (prawn, beef & celery, pork + sang choy bow) weren't quite as good as those in Ashfield or in the City, they were still awesomely delish!

Amazingly for once we didn't order too many! Not sure how that happened but it meant we didn't feel like we were waddling back to the car.

Hands Full of Glitter and Tofu : 2011 Day 223 - Yeah Dumplings!! Holy Crepe!

My gorgeous guy is finally working in Sydney, well at least for a little while, and as luck would have it (and let's face it, what other force is at work when it comes to food? OK that makes no sense at all but it sounds tabloid dramatic and so it shall stay), the offices he is working at are almost directly opposite World Square, wherein lies a fabulous dumpling place, and a fabulous Japanese crepe (yes you read right) called Mother Crepe, which has the most delicious dessert crepes ever.

Naturally we went to both places, but amazingly (yes I note the bug-eyed look of surprise in your eyes), we didn't overeat. I will repeat. By some miracle, or that gastronomic luck, we ordered just the right amount of dumplings and the crepes were light, caramel-full, and soft and barely made an impact on the digestive system's sense of being full to pussy's bow (of course being over 40, our fat reserves absorbed every last molecule they could get their hands on and we put on 80kg).

Fabulous night!
