Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 337: More storms and Bridget

Fell in love with pears and raspberries ( leftover from Steve's divinely yummy raspberry coulis that he used on my birthday cake on Saturday night) today ... before another storm rolled in (the latest in a long line) just as I was heading out to a combined birthday dinner and movie with Bridget in Newtown. By the time we reached Newtown, the water was ridiculously high but we managed to find a park and not get sploshed by buses racing past on King Street - I leapt delicately out of the way at one point much to Bridget's amusement) - before heading in to see Nightcrawler with dinner at Happy Chef afterwards. Bridget also very sweetly took me in to HUM and told me to pick out anything I wanted as a present. A wonderful, fabulous night ...

Thank you for my present Bridget!!

And Rachel sent me a pic of her and my mum and Jordan celebrating Nanna's retirement home Christmas at mum and dad's place because Nanna doesn't like the formal events ...

And here's a fabulous shot of Amie and Noah ... just gorgeous ...

Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 113: Three trips to Newtown

Lots of walking to Newtown today.

First with Waz for first walk in 10 days (largely due to my crappy back) and then later that day for my usual monthly appointment at Communicare in Enmore Road (texted the following pic to Waz, quipping I had a sense of deja vu) ...

Then home to blog, read and apply for jobs and then back up to Newtown with Fahmi to see Any Day Now, a wonderful movie, followed by a wander through HUM and Better Read Than Dead where I saw a lot of books I'd love to read (but didn't buy tonight!)

Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 65: Movies and books

Fahmi had free tickets to see Le Week-end so we caught the 7pm session at Dendy, shopped in HUM and Better Read Than Dead - I bought nothing but took pics of books to remind of books I'd like to buy when I have money again.

Then met Steve, who'd driven back from Bathurst, at Happy Chef for yummy dinner.

Perfect night.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 331 - Shopping and no money spent!

Yay for lovely friends and gift vouchers for gifts!

I spent the money shopping on King Street for some Christmas gifts (got most of Steve's) and using up my HUM voucher. The Better Read Than Dead one will get used when a book I ordered comes in.

So much fun and guilt free!

and some fun tweets from the day ...

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 295 - Lots of walking

LOTS of walking!

Left home at 9.30 or so, walked to Australia Post outlet at Alexandria on Burrows Road to pick up the ABBA mag I'd bought on Ebay, then via Erko Road to Newtown to pick up Ring Ring Deluxe edition and some groceries then home via King Street where I had lunch (preceded by banana bread and mineral water) and watched Ellen (arrived back at 11.45)

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 145 - A halo over the Bridge... and Dendy Newtown re-opens!

Left work and it was raining just enough to create a foggy halo over the Sydney Harbour Bridge...

Then off to Newtown to grab mags at Magnation, buy shoes at Platypus, new albums by Scissor Sisters, Regina Spektor, and Ladyhawke, and check out the brand new Dendy with 10 cinemas! Count 'em...10!
It has lost its old grungy character but looks so modern and spacious...

And then it rained... HARD... and me with no umbrella. Thankfully Fahmi picked me up outside The Bank Hotel on his way home from Broadway.
