Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 298 - More jacarandas!

I love Jacanadra trees! All the way back to Grafton when I was kid and wanted to be called Max (yes really), I have loved this time of year, the beautiful flowers, and the gorgeous carpet of flowers.

Then had the guys over that night - everyone but Peter and Fahmi - for pizzas from Pizza Picasso and wine. Then went into the city to collect Steve's sister Carolyn from an awards night for captioning where her school won an award!

Zara and her very special friend Malachai dressed up as gorgeous princesses.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 297 - Disappointment, chocolate and Thai

Busy day vacuuming and re-arranging boxes in wardrobe - had been walking through it over last 2 days too and culled lots of paper and rearranged lots of stuff; felt so good to get so much done! - but day marred by ABC Dig telling me "thank you but no thank you"and not even an interview so did what anyone would do and ate the Cadbury choc bunny I found in one of the boxes. Ah comfort food, we love thee!

Went walking with Waz and then as Steve came back from Bathurst tonight, he picked me up and we went and had dinner at Sun Thai and I stayed the night. Lots of huggles!

He looks SOOO evil ... tasty but EVIL

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 296 - Crashing blogs and lollies

Busy day blogging, job hunting, swimming (1km) and then watching as my site crashed ... YIKES!

But had tickets to see Captain Phillips that night at Event Cinemas in the City so headed in hoping site would right itself and met Michael from my writing group for sushi beforehand.

Great movie and got to catch train home with Michael which was fun - he's a lovely guy.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 295 - Lots of walking

LOTS of walking!

Left home at 9.30 or so, walked to Australia Post outlet at Alexandria on Burrows Road to pick up the ABBA mag I'd bought on Ebay, then via Erko Road to Newtown to pick up Ring Ring Deluxe edition and some groceries then home via King Street where I had lunch (preceded by banana bread and mineral water) and watched Ellen (arrived back at 11.45)

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 293 - Bodhi, Marrickville Markets

Got this wonderful photo of my nephew Bodhi today ...

Spent the morning at Marrickville Markets, after a suitably chilled lie-in, shopping for socks (no sock lady to be found alas) and eating yum cha and Mexican lemonade. No great purchases but lots of fun just checking it all out ...

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 292 - Out and about with Sean

My lovely friend from Vancouver Sean came to Australia for work - 1 1/2 weeks in Perth - and spent his first weekend in Sydney.

So Steve and I headed in early, meet him at 10.30 for brunch which we had at the cafe at the Museum of Contemporary Art on a perfect cool but sunny Spring day and then walked around Circular Quay to the Opera House then around and through the Botanical Gardens - stopping for a snack on Art Gallery Road at a cafe on the edge of the Domain before dropping Sean off for his BridgeClimb.

Awesome day and he's so much to hang with!

Home for a brief nap and chill and then it was time for Waz's birthday dinner with drinks at his place beforehand before walking up to Newtown to meet Sean at the railway station at Newtown and walking down to a funky new bar housed in the Betta Meats shop ... loved it!

Dinner was Delhi o' Delhi and then we wandered down for some drinks at The Imperial so Sean could experience Priscilla's place and help Waz pick up a guy (no luck on the latter front alas).

Present from Steve and I
