Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 349 - Christmas shopping marathon

Off to the City for a marathon of Christmas shopping!

Mostly #suchfun with pit stops for food and to rest our weary feet and the occasional great gift giving epiphany. Spirits mostly held up just fine but lordy were we tired by the end!

We both slept very well tonight.

A very late breakfast lunch at Luneburger in QVB

Oh lord these royal Wedgwood figurines look frightfully freaky (Victoria's Basement which was its usual crazy Christmas busy; efficient fast checkout though)

So pretty ... love QVB's Christmas decos ...

To Myer foodcourt for mid afternoon sustenance (plus some sushi)

Before doing some shopping in Myer ...

And finishing up in Kinokuniya where we got Ric and Carolyn's pressies, and JB Hi-Fi where I got something for Steve and he got something for Lucy ... hurrah!

Then home by train to chill before going to Marrickville Metro for groceries and presents for Steve's team (Lindor Balls from Kmart) ...

Steve leapt out of way at last minute making it look to guy going UP the escalator that I was snapping him (I really wasn't!)

Attacked by giant reindeers in Kmart

And giant Santas ...

Vogue that trolley baby!!

And again!

Then to dinner at Matee where the delightful, friendly owner gave two glasses each of a lovely light Cabernet Merlot. Such a lovely lady and wonderful end to a very busy day.

Here's the day in tweets ...

... and last but not least Michael in the pool with Bodhi and Jordan ...

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 296 - Crashing blogs and lollies

Busy day blogging, job hunting, swimming (1km) and then watching as my site crashed ... YIKES!

But had tickets to see Captain Phillips that night at Event Cinemas in the City so headed in hoping site would right itself and met Michael from my writing group for sushi beforehand.

Great movie and got to catch train home with Michael which was fun - he's a lovely guy.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 59 - Haircut ... and a big walk.

What a night!

Another #cityfail debacle as loose plates on Harbour Bridge shut off all North Shore trains in both directions forcing me to walk across the Bridge again. Took 40 minutes including train from Circ Quay to Town Hall to get to haircut at Just Cuts.

Was so tired had sushi at Makanai for dinner then bought some DVDs and CDs at JB.

Home to watch an episode of Modern Family with Aidan and to eat two hot cross buns with butter.

Night ended well with a call from my guy.

... and finally the haircut!

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 348 - Christmas

Off to the City after work to buy toiletries (Souls Pharmacy in Pitt St Mall), books (Dymocks  -including my Kris Kringle present for work), get a haircut (Just Cuts), and Christmas bon bons and wrapping paper (Myer).

Exhausted I finished up with a sushi dinner at Maakani near the mall (actually went to Dymocks afterwards I think) before heading home from St James station.

Busy night but with the Gay and Lesbian Choir singing carols in the mall, and everyone pretty happy, it was a pretty pleasant night.

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 222 - Catching up with Justin

Fabulous catch up dinner with Justin at Sushi Go Round in Bondi Junction.

Upshot of the conversation? I should buy a house SOON - next week was suggested! - and Justin has a very cool idea for a research topic for his Masters.

Delicious freshly-made apple crepes. YUM!

Oh, and I saw a man urinate off the platform at Town Hall. That was not so good ... and no, no pictures thank you very much! (I did tweet about it.)

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 199 - Rambo-Man and the art of sushi with Sammi

My boss finally made it into work today after being sick for a week with the flu, and almost immediately suited up her dog Rambo in the new Superman outfit that had arrived for him in her absence.

He looked adorable in it.

I met up with the also very adorable Sammi who I know from my days at Optus. We had a lovely time catching up, talking about work, our planned trips overseas ... OK her actual one and my aspirational ones ... and just hanging out. I love her company!
