Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 247: New walks ... and accidental nachos

Waz and I decided to go a slightly different route this morning up through the JUST completed - after 18 months!! - new park between Verve/Xenix and Sydney Park Village that runs between Coulson St and Sydney Park Road ... really beautifully done and took us about 5-7 minutes extra at start to do but by the end we arrived smack bang on time ... we were TRAVELLING!!

and at the other end of the day, Aidan and I watched the double episode season finale of Falling Skies with Accidental nachos i.e. I'd bought Mission Chilli and Lime corn chips for entree and spag bol for dinner and decided in a moment of BRILLIANCE to combine - YUMMMMM!!! (We always have special food and wine for season finales and series end episodes.)

Oh and, um, I MAY have bought some Marvellous Creations chocolate on special and we ate the, um, TOTAL BLOCK ... MAYBE ...

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 200 - Lunch with a View

We got taken out for lunch today by Lieve who works in the office next door.

I had rescued a wine bottle from her front door last week when she wasn't there - it had been sent by a PR company so Lieve wasn't expecting it - and as appreciation for that and a lot of other help we give her, she took us to lunch at the Kirribilli Club next door.

I had delicious fish and chips washed down with white wine, and stick date pudding, the company of Rose, Danielle and a very warm and chatty Lieve who it was a delight to get to know, and a warmish day framed by a brilliant blue winter's sky.

Perfect.

Event hough I had gone walking that morning, I decided that after that lunch I should go again and so tired though I was, I headed around the park with Waz for 6 km of fat-burning "fun". The catching up with Waz is always fun; the exercise? Not so much.

But I did it, then because we have a flat inspection tomorrow, I swept the balcony, mopped it (the mop handle helpfully snapped half way through!) and then once I had spoken to Steve (poor guy is coming down with a cold in the middle of a BUSY work schedule), showered and prepared a kind of dinner, Aidan and I watched Bear Grylls take Miranda Hart, a British comedian we adore through the Swiss Alps and then watched the latest episode of Falling Skies, which was awesome!

And then blessedly I slept ...

Hands Full of Glitter and Tofu : 2011 Day 228 (Tuesday 16 August) - Falling Skies in my Living Room

A free night where I didn't have to be anywhere with anyone (my first preference is to see my gorgeous guy especially since he's now in Sydney during the week rather than Bathurst but a night to ourselves now and then is healthy too) so my housemate and I watched the final two episodes of Falling Skies and what a humdinger they were! More sterling character development, gasp-inducing plot twists and state of the art CGI, but most importantly yummy Indian food shared with my house mate, Aidan, who's become a very good friend.

A most excellent night of house mate bonding and pop culture goodness.
