Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 328 - The birthday weekend begins

Amidst a frantically busy day trying to get ready for what went from a week's holiday to just 2 days - poor Steve's work project wrecked things once again - the four of us headed out for a Yum Cha lunch at Greenwood with Tracy, Rose and Danielle.

We ate heaps and the food was delicious. Loved starting off my birthday weekend with my wonderful work friends.

Oh and Tracy bought me a special birthday present - a Chai Latte with a marshmallow!

So very lovely.

Wonderful touch of Christmas when Waz and I were out walking tonight and we came across this decorated Christmas tree near one of the parking lots. No idea how long it would last so I snapped a photo of it while I could.

And we finished up the day with an impromptu birthday eve eve pizza and wine night at my place with my newly-arrived-from-Bathurst gorgeous guy, Warren and then about an hour after we started Fahmi, fresh from a play at the Opera House.

Fabulous night out on the balcony.

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 282 -

Fun day at work.

The helium balloon we got for the networking on 2 October refused to die - another zombie balloon!! Noooo! - so we cut it free, let it drift around the room until Rose finally tied it up to Danielle's computer.

Oh and Triple JJJ's Hack program retweeted my tweet to them today.

Most cool.

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 200 - Lunch with a View

We got taken out for lunch today by Lieve who works in the office next door.

I had rescued a wine bottle from her front door last week when she wasn't there - it had been sent by a PR company so Lieve wasn't expecting it - and as appreciation for that and a lot of other help we give her, she took us to lunch at the Kirribilli Club next door.

I had delicious fish and chips washed down with white wine, and stick date pudding, the company of Rose, Danielle and a very warm and chatty Lieve who it was a delight to get to know, and a warmish day framed by a brilliant blue winter's sky.

Perfect.

Event hough I had gone walking that morning, I decided that after that lunch I should go again and so tired though I was, I headed around the park with Waz for 6 km of fat-burning "fun". The catching up with Waz is always fun; the exercise? Not so much.

But I did it, then because we have a flat inspection tomorrow, I swept the balcony, mopped it (the mop handle helpfully snapped half way through!) and then once I had spoken to Steve (poor guy is coming down with a cold in the middle of a BUSY work schedule), showered and prepared a kind of dinner, Aidan and I watched Bear Grylls take Miranda Hart, a British comedian we adore through the Swiss Alps and then watched the latest episode of Falling Skies, which was awesome!

And then blessedly I slept ...
