Back where we belong!
After a break last year, thanks to bad weather, and exhaustion with the concept (after years of doing the events), it was back to the Domain for more kul-cha courtesy of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and a sublime night with good friends thanks to their lovely presence (including my gorgeous guy's sister, and her boyfriend for the first time), sunny day with cool breezes, wine, cheese & dips, chicken and salad and an almighty big stick of white Toblerone!

On the gigantic travelator of fun and artwork from the Domain carpark to, you guessed it, The Domain! |
Warren really loves his chairs! |
Until the sun drops behind the buildings on Macquarie Street about 6.30, it can get hot, damn hot out on the exposed grassy expanse of The Domain. Thank the lord for great big umbrellas! |
The true believers get there early to hold the space for the late arrivals - in this case, Ian, Ingo, my guy, me, Warren & Fahmi. When I say early, we got there at 4pm for an 8pm concert but if you leave it too much later, the pickings are slim! |
Peter makes his arrival! |
The stage and the crowd.....lots and lots of people! |
My gorgeous guy's sister and her boyfriend came along (she's normally in Melbourne) and saved the day with baguettes for sandwiches when the roll-bringer forgot them. No names,...um, Fahmi!! |
Peter and I chow down on dinner (think I am about to wear mine!) |
Ian kips while Ingo hams it up for the camera |
My gorgeous guy lights up his wine.....oooh pretty!! |
The event always ends with the 1812 Overture (regardless of the theme, which this year was Shakesspeare passages performed by the incomparable John Bell, and classical pieces based on Shakespeare's works) and fireworks. |
