365 Pink Feather Boas All in a Row - Day 189 (Thursday 8 July 2010) : Err-Ly in the Morning

I am used to early starts given the fact that I often get up at 5 a.m. to go for hour long power walks, in a vain attempt too often to fight off encroaching flab (not, I stress, that there is lots of that!).

But somehow getting up early for an invigorating walk around Newtown and Erskineville is different to getting up early, showering, getting dressed and being on the 5.40 train to the City for a customer breakfast event my division was hosting.

My role was solely to act as Door Bitch to the customers - a very professional, friendly D.B. but a D.B. nonetheless - alongside my colleague, Sandra but we needed to be there early in case any of the customers turned up early. I snapped the photo above of the Cenotaph in Martin Place as I was walking to the hotel we were holding the event in, and it was weird to be almost alone at 6 a.m. in an area normally teeming with people.
The breakfast itself went well, and after a 6 a.m. start, both Sandra and I left work at 3 p.m. on the first Optus bus home.....
