365 Pink Feather Boas All in a Row - Day 182 : Pa Won't! Marmite!

I love Marmite.

Vegemite not so much.

Does that make me unpatriotic? Not really. Vegemite is now made by Kraft, a US multinational, while Marmite, which was British originally, is made here by Sanitarium, a wholly Australian owned company. But really this has nothing to do with patriotism.

It has everything to do with taste. Vegemite, while awash in the nostalgia of my youth, is bitter tasting while Marmite is sweet and tasty, and works beautifully on crumpets with lots of butter, which is what I had for breakfast this morning, after the breakfast cereal ran out.

Yummy yummy in my tummy as Dawn French used to say in the Vicar of Dibley, and a nice change from my cereal.....

I had dinner with Justin tonight!

He's a dear, wonderful friend, with a wicked sense of humour, and lovely perspective on things, and we talked and talked and talked about work, life, relationships, and the weird vagaries of life. He is always fun to be with, and I love our catch ups.

Tonight's was at Citrus on King Street, which is very cold - they keep the back door open so you can reach the toilet which is down a back alley, and when I went to it had its floor covered in toilet paper like a kegger party had just taken place there - but has great service and yummy food. We even had cake, but there was no sign of approving nods from Marie Antoinette.
The old queen of France may have been a no show - understandable when you have been dead for 400 + years - but my gorgeous guy did turn after straight from a tiring drive from Bathurst and we had chai lattes and cake with Justin, and I learnt a thing or two about Darjeeling Tea (Justin being quite the connoiseur of teas) before my guy drove me home via a hilarious tour of the back streets of Erskineville so we could spend a little more time together.

He's so sweet.
