365 Pink Feather Boas All in a Row - Day 188 : Anatomy of a Move Part 1
OK so I have to move.
I am not thrilled about it, and frankly could well do without the stress and the disruption but the reality is I have to move, and so tonight I took the first step to packing up my goods and chattels for what will likely be a ridiculously short hop across the apartment complex to a neighbouring building.
By sheer accident, step 1, which usually involves copious amounts of purging - which raises the question of why I purchased much of the stuff in the first place, an issue I still wrestle with being the shopaholic that I am; clearly I need to be more discerning than I have become (yep I was worse, much worse!) in what gets bought in the first place - began a few weeks back with a Before Spring Clean of my walk-in wardrobe which organised a lot of things as much as it discarded many others. It's put me in a good position to purge some more, beginning with my magazine stash.
The only magazines that survive are special issues - the travel and music issues of DNA (or any with really hunky guys on the cover....YUM!) or the Music/TV/Movie Preview issues of Entertainment Weekly, a US pop culture magazine I love (even though it costs $14.95 an issue Airmail) - and the rest make their way to the Happy Recycling Centre in the Sky.... or Wetherill Park.
Of course there's lots more to do but at least I have made a start.....
