Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 185 - Day off! YAY!

Day off!!

Used up 4 hours of my time in lieu + 4 hours of holiday leave and had a fabulous day at home.

Slept in ... got some cleaning up done around the house ...

Then walked up to King Street ...

Then watched Dans la Maison (In the House) at Newtown ... well eventually ... music kept playing 20 minutes past 10.30 start time with no sign of ads or shorts ... no response from Dendy's social media team ... finally person next to me got up and got someone to fiddle with computer till it started 25 minutes late ... great movie though ...

Then picked up 5 Entertainment Weekly mags from Magnation, Miranda season 3 + new Josh Pyke album from HUM, and lunch with Waz at Matee ....

Then a glorious 1.5 hour nap, some blogging, and TV watching with Aidan including Falling Skies season 3, episode 5 - ho hum - Under the Dome episode 2 - quadruple ho hum - and 2 eps of Suburgatory, one Ok, one very funny ... and then to ZZZZZ ...

Watched The View, read books, tidied up, did Christmas shopping up at Newtown in Better Read Than Dead, Pentimento ... FUN!

Fab first day off - read lots, blogged, caught on washing clothes etc, ate leftover Lebanese food, watched Fringe and The Walking Dead that night with Aidan ...plus got some more birthday greetings and more cute photos of Bodhi ...

Technically these well wishers weren't late since it was still 25th Nov in their timezone!

I was planning to see 2 movies today and have lunch with Justin and go shopping but ended up tidying up some cupboards (trying to find a software disc for my guy), reading LOTS of a new book, The Long Earth, and snuggling in bed on an overcast rainy cold day.

I feel so relaxed right now. SO relaxed.

(also I had a great chat with Justin about how exhausted and stressed I am and I realised that I am trying to do too much and throwing all this stuff at the wall hoping things will stick and not even enjoying the blogging anymore. So from now on, I am simplifying ...)

Perfect day off.

Read last part of Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (on shelf since 2003), alphabetised CD collection, watched all 6 episodes of season 1 of Parks and Recreation (loved it - wrote down so many quotes!) and late dinner of kanga bangas with Steve.

Loved it!

Woke up at 6 a.m. - my body is still adjusting to non daylight saving and thought it was really 7 a.m. - and started cleaning up my room. Filed away a lot of stuff on my desk, went through some tubs, re-sorted all them , cleaned old clothes out of the wardrobe and re-organised that, shredded heaps of old documents, cleaned the fridge, cleaned out kitchen cupboard, sorted DVDs... so much done!

Also found time to nap, swam 500m (not as much as normal but I am under physic's orders), watched 6 episodes of GRIMM (adore the lead actor, David Giuntoli) and had dinner with my lovely man at Stir Crazy outside on a balmy beautiful night.

As perfect as a day off gets really.

Except it got dark REALLY early. I did not like... I miss the evening light...
