No, we didn't have Gwyneth Paltrow reprising her role from the movie Sliding Doors as we assembled and put the doors on my gorgeous guy's wardrobe - again with minimal problems or none at all really thanks to his supreme ability to organised and execute flawlessly - largely because we don't know her at all, and she lives in the UK, but partly because she couldn't get a babysitter.....
But by the time the doors were on, and all the finishing external pieces added, we had, after a long sleep in, lazy brunch at Foodarama on King Street, and a lie down, an almost completed IKEA wardrobe!! We thought of sending a marching band up and down the steps of Steve's apartment, but (a) we don't know any marching bands and (b) the echo in that stairwell is horrendous, so we settled for Dr Who and take away Chinese....
OK so it's no tickertape parade but we felt the giddiness of triumph anyway......
Oh yes and Happy Mother's Day all!
My gorgeous Mum doesn't buy into commercial holidays so it has minimal presence in our home - I still rang her anyway to wish her a Happy Mothers' Day - but it's still a big day and with that in mind, here's a touching tribute that I think you will all appreciate...
