365 Pink Feather Boas All in a Row - Day 125 : Waiter, There's a Fly in my Thali
One of the loveliest things to happen to me in recent years has been getting to know my Dad's side of the family a little bit more.
More specifically, my delightful cousin (above), Ngaire (pron. Ny-ree) who is the daughter of one of Dad's sisters. Growing up we spent all our time with my Mum's sister Helen, my uncle Gary and their three daughters (the ever wonderful Rebecca, Lois and Ruth) because Dad wasn't close to his family (due to reasons beyond his control which I won't detail here), and while that was great, I always wondered what my cousins on Dad's side were like.Getting to know Ngaire well (and to a lesser extent, her sister Moirag) has answered that question, and I am thrilled that we have become wonderfully close, and have built a lovely rapport. She is a delight - funny, intelligent, well read and insightful - and add some yummy non-veg Thali from Jaipur Masala and you have a brilliant night that rose up the insane exhaustion I was feeling.
