365 Pink Feather Boas All in a Row - Day 124 : Mixed Bag

Today has not really been marked by anything of great note - just how many times can I bleat about how busy I am before angry mobs attack with pitchforks and torches? Hmm, I wonder? Now I want to test that! - so here are a few things that touched me, or made me laugh.....

FLOWER

These were given away yesterday as part of a promotion for a charity fund-raising drive, and I love the bright orange colour of the Gerberer. I love bright colours full stop but there is something about the joyful vivacity of the colour that just lights up the cubicle, and has cheered me up on a very busy stressful day. Plus I am not exactly a green, or orange, thumb and for this to still be alive now is a triumph!

GET YOUR GLEE ON!

I adore this show. Its camp, thought-provoking, clever, fun, bright, leg-kicking FUN and, though she be bad to the bone on the show, I love the character that Jane Lynch plays for her sheer bad-assery!

But what I love even more, is that Jane is out and proud in Hollywood where usually actors are afraid to be themselves for fear of losing work. What's even more impressive is that she is head over heels in love with a gorgeous lady, is getting ready to get married to her, and is happy to declare this to the media. It was while talking about the woman she loves that she made the following impactful remark:

"I have a ring and everything. We're very happy and excited....it's just the greatest thrill in the world to find somebody who you want to be with every day"

That's exactly how I feel about the heart-stoppingly beautiful man I am in love with....it is joy every day to see him, or talk to him, and that is not diminishing in any way but growing deeper. I am a blessed man, and I understand the 'thrill' that Jane refers to, and I am happy she has found it too.
