Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 66 - Catching up with Tricia

Much delayed catch up with my wonderful friend Tricia N.

Drank a bottle of Marlborough Pinot Noir at the Arthouse Hotel, couldn't get any food to go with it so more than a little tipsy went up to Wagamamas - I went to Kinokuniya first to buy some Game of Thrones books - and had dinner there.

A fabulous, wonderful catch up, mix of D&M and silly laughter.

Perfect.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 65 - Sherbies!

We got 12kg of Sherbies at work today. 12kg!

No I did not eat any of them.

I even avoided the last of the poppyseed cake AND Lindor Balls.

Great is my resolve to lose weight for Steve's wedding!

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 63 - The all-new Sydney Morning Herald

It was the big launch of the new tabloid ... I mean ... compact version of The Sydney Morning Herald and here are my tweets discussing my reactions to seeing it for the first time.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 62 - Out damn spot ... or 300 ... of dust!

Steve had to work on work stuff again poor guy so I stayed at home, blogged and napped and ... swept, mopped and wiped clean with tea towels the entire balcony! I ended up covered in dirt on my knees and feet but it was so worth it!

Yes I am excited by cleaning.

Help me ... help me now! LOL

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 61 - Not so much Mardi Gras

Raining was a-threatenin' the Mardi Gras parade - in the end it didn't rain on the parade so I felt guilty that for the second year in a row we'd cancelled on going (Peter wasn't keen at all, Ian and Fahmi on fence so in the end I made the call not to go, not wanting a repeat of last years 2 hours of horrible indecision) - so we headed to Dendy instead in Newtown and watched a new movie, Side Effects, by Steven Soderbergh, which was excellent.

Back home King Street to Pastizzi Cafe for pasta and veal. Having only had pastizzis from there before, the food was delicious, divine and just plain gorgeous. YUM. (Ian and I went down to the union to get red wine.)

So we might have missed the parade, but had a brilliant night of catching up together and lots of laughs.

Loved it (so much so that by the end of the night my guilt at missing the parade had almost disappeared).

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 60 - Lots of rain ... the last broadsheet Herald ... and Torch Song Trilogy

So it rained. A LOT.

And it was the last time the Sydney Morning Herald would be published as a broadsheet - it switches to a tabloid ... sorry "compact" form on Monday - and so I bought two copies of what Steve calls the Sydney Morning Weekly (its gone downhill in recent years) ...

And then off to see Torch Song Trilogy at the Darlinghurst Theatre.
