Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 235: Goldfish and pancakes

Took a pic of the goldfish while cooking pancakes (walked down to convenience store to get mix and lemon juice after waking up craving pancakes) ...

Then off to dinner that night with Ian (who'd just got back from Europe) and Fahmi and Steve at Pastizzi Cafe (hadn't booked anywhere and this was the one place with a spare table) ...

Back to Fahmi's for his divinely yummy homemade cake ... and yes Simone got some too LOL

Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 188: Pasta la vista to Ian and Ingo

Ian and Ingo leave on Wednesday for 6 weeks in Europe and so we had a farewell catch up at Pastizzi Cafe.

While we were squashed into a too-small table at the back of the restaurant and I kept getting bumped into by people in the aisle, the service was fabulously friendly, food YUM and company wonderful.

Great night.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 255 - Dinner with Steve

My guy came back from Bathurst tonight - yay! - and he took me on another "date night" (ie he paid for dinner part of his gracious sweet generous care of me in my unemployment) to Pastizzi Cafe ... delicious and so wonderful to just spend time with him.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 75 - The gang is back!

Ingo is back!

To celebrate his return to Oz, we gathered the gang together for drinks - supposed to be at Bench (private function) then Moose Bar (private function) before we finally settled on the bistro part of The Union Hotel -  then dinner at Pastizzi ... and yes I had the veal and peppercorns again.

SO YUM ... and wonderful to have everyone back together!

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 61 - Not so much Mardi Gras

Raining was a-threatenin' the Mardi Gras parade - in the end it didn't rain on the parade so I felt guilty that for the second year in a row we'd cancelled on going (Peter wasn't keen at all, Ian and Fahmi on fence so in the end I made the call not to go, not wanting a repeat of last years 2 hours of horrible indecision) - so we headed to Dendy instead in Newtown and watched a new movie, Side Effects, by Steven Soderbergh, which was excellent.

Back home King Street to Pastizzi Cafe for pasta and veal. Having only had pastizzis from there before, the food was delicious, divine and just plain gorgeous. YUM. (Ian and I went down to the union to get red wine.)

So we might have missed the parade, but had a brilliant night of catching up together and lots of laughs.

Loved it (so much so that by the end of the night my guilt at missing the parade had almost disappeared).
