Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 265: INTERVIEW!

After walking with Waz, did some last minute prep the left just before 9.30 for train and light rail trip to interview at Channel 10 studios in Ultimo. The interview went brilliantly well - David and Vanessa were just delightful and I felt like I represented myself quite well.

After all the nerves and stress leading up to it, I grabbed some comfort food on the way home and collapsed for the day in front of the TV.

Happy though with a job well done!!

Then into the City that night for a secret concert Fahmi had booked for Steve and I and himself at the Opera House. Birthday presents for Steve and I, the concert featured Holy Holy in support and Boy and Bear as main act and both were awesome. Dinner beforehand at Opera Bar where I caught Steve up on all the interview news over burgers and chips (Fahmi didn't get there till about 7pm)

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 345 - To Newtown and Homebush ... and back again

One of the delightful parts about being unemployed and receiving Centrelink payments is going to see my appointed jobs provider. I do mean that sarcastically but not because they aren't pleasant or helpful people.

It's just that going there reminds me I don't have a job, that all my applications have so far failed to yield a job (though I have got very close twice).

Today's session was very quick - Chloe was lovely and impressed with my efforts to find work and do the Photoshop course, remarking that she wished more people would give finding work as much effort as I have - and so I was in and out quickly, which gave me time to enjoy the street art in Enmore Road.

And get some supermarket shopping done too :) And see a movie, Kill Your Darlings too ...

Then off that evening to see Alicia Keys at Allphones Arena at Homebush.

Train trips (both directions) went smoothly, we actually found healthy food (lean tandoori chicken skewers on rice with salad) and both John Legend and the headline act were AWESOME.

Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 250 - Vote away your troubles ... or not

Federal election day and so Steve and I, Waz and Fahmi walked to Erskineville Public School to vote, and buy the fundraising cakes that are as much a part of the day as the voting ...

Then off to Cafe Sofia for brunch which was surprisingly not packed with voters ...

Then back home stopping to admire some street art, have a nap ...

Day finished off in the best way possible with dinner at Shenken Cafe in Enmore - such delicious lamb and chicken skewers, and divinely yummy zucchini and tahini dip - and then we got to see the incomparable Cyndi Lauper in concert at the Enmore Theatre! It was Steve's 50th birthday present from me along with a hardcover copy of her memoir and her first 5 CDs in a box ...

She was amazing!!
