Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 339: Lots of things done

After a lovely sunrise out walking, and getting a fab pic of Zara with her dad showing off her Christmas art, I walked to Marrickville Metro to get mince, fruit and dips and things for the Christmas picnic - despite the fact that all the rolling storms made cancellation quite likely - came back and stuck a number of ornaments on the tree then went for a walk in the afternoon to see how wet the grass was in Sydney Park.

It wasn't wet at all but I had to scurry back home in a hurry when another storm threatened, only just making it home in time where I had a mango, cooked the meatballs I'd made earlier, and watched a sunset before Steve came on over and did silly things with cushions ...

Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 312: Errands and street art ... ZARA! and Last night at Jinnah's

After a big sleep in and brunch, went to toss away my old microwave and Waz's at e-waste disposal at Marrickville and while day itself wasn't crazy hot thanks to a lovely wind, in Steve's car it was boiling, making the LONG wait to get to the council depot awful.

We got there finally but Steve had to drop me on May Street, St Peters so he could dash home for a work teleconference - yes on a Saturday! Yuck! - so I walked home, didn't sweat too badly grabbed some fab shots of streets on May Street and on the Princes Highway ...

And here are some shots of Zara taken this weekend on a day trip to Brisbane and the Sciencentre (followed by a swim at South Bank Parklands beach pool) ... cute as always ...

And finally decided to go and have some Pakistani at Jinnah's a quirky restaurant in Dulwich Hill that has great food but indifferent service and kitsch decor. Tonight while the food was good - we were served quickly since as per usual we were the only ones in the place - the service was just rude. The husband came over at 9.10 - we'd got there about 8 and quite brusquely said "We close at 9. It's now 10 past 9" and slammed the bill down on the table. We were too stunned to say anything but one thing's for sure - we will join the long line of people no longer going to the restaurant.

Thankfully at least the food was yummy and our BYO red wine lovely.
