Project 289 - Day 168 (Tuesday 1 September 2009) : Never Has Spring Made More Sense Than Today
Today was the first day of Spring....
...and the first day after the funeral of my beautiful Great Aunt Liz...
I was feeling sad still, and emotionally battered and bruised, and the day was a traditionally manic Tuesday at work, which left little time for reflection of any kind but I had a brief moment where I looked out the window, saw the sun shining, trees sprouting new leaves, and realised that it is a new start in lots of senses. Yes, life is full of them, but today the sense of newness resonates more powerfully than it has in some time.
So my photo today is of my cuter-than-cute niece Zara who was born 8 weeks ago, was at the funeral, and embodies the sense of newness better than anyone or anything I know right now.
