Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 250 - Attack of the carbs!

OK a tad melodramatic granted and if that's how carbs attack, I am happy to have more of it.

My gorgeous guy had just got in from Bathurst, needed dinner and to see me (and I couldn't wait to see him after 4 days away) and so we headed to Pie Tin, the best pie shop in Newtown that serves pies with interesting flavours (I had roast pork and apple sauce), delicious kumera mash and yummy pea mash. Throw in some Charlie's old fashioned lemonade, and the smile of my handsome guy and it was the perfect dinner.

Plus it was a lovely spring night. Very Goldilocks-like ...

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 249 - Hump ahoy!

Hump Day and back into work with a million different tasks to get done - scheduling events in the calendar, blog posts, finding things to tweet ... and another gorgeous evening over the Harbour.

This earned me a slew of retweets too when I retweeted which was lovely. Thank you tweeps!

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 247 - Much work to be done

A busy Monday at work.

Grabbed a shot of peak hour traffic on Sydney Harbour Bridge before I reached work and did a lot of writing and blogging including a profile of a wonderful book, Under the Skin by Marion van Dyk.

Great day!

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 246 -

It was a glorious spring day so my gorgeous guy and I went to Marrickville Markets for a poke around - bought some books and some Yum Cha delicacies - and saw, on Father's Day, what looked like the beginnings of a heartfelt message in the sky. What we go, alas, was an ad. On a very pretty vivid blue sky though so bonus points for that at least.

and then after a chillin' afternoon at his place, which included a wonderful nap, headed off to Broadway to The Sapphires, with Fahmi, Steve Moore, Barbara and her mum. The movie was wonderful. (You can read my review here.)

Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 245 - Dinner out with the guys

Off to the Shire first up for brunch with Susie. We had a wonderful catch up, and the food at CafeNaked was divine as was the awesomely friendly service.

45 minute trip via train so needed some reading material

View from a train window

Back in Gymea - taken as I searched for a St George/Westpac ATM

And the view down to Gymea station

Then back home, a nap, some chilling and then Steve came around and we went out for dinner with the gang.

First stop Black Sheep bar for drinks - loved the funky rustic interior and the fact they serve Rekorderlig - and then Izote Mexican, where the food was enjoyable but the service was awful (we had to ask for menus, water etc, and the waitresses barely spoke to us at all). I would go back for the food possibly but that may not be enough of an inducement.

Thankfully we had a ball as friends and grabbed some gelato on the way home.
