Sitting here wondering if I'm Pollyanna or Eeyore - Day 68: PAR-TAY! Happy 80th Kath!!

Spent the morning cooking up pin wheels and meatballs and the headed over to Darren and Melissa's for the big birthday bash at 12.30pm, stopping for wine and Rekorderlig on the way.

It was an WONDERFUL afternoon! Time flew by as always eating lots of delicious food, drinking lovely wine and champers, and have lovely in depth chats with Melissa and Sue, kidding around with, appropriately enough, the kids, and eating some of the beautiful cake Carolyn had bought.

Carolyn drove us back to the airport where our Jetstar flight was 30 minutes late leaving but here's the thing - they keep us updated in almost exquisite detail and everyone stayed happy because they weren't kept in the dark. Still so much for ranting at Virgin that Jetstar ALWAYS leave on time! HAHA!

Started Christmas Day off early at 7.30am, cooking last of our Christmas food and exchanging the presents between Carolyn and Ric, Steve and I ... and yes the customary piece of chocolate for breakfast ...

Then off to Brian and Sue's for Christmas lunch  at 11.30 ...

The pesto scrolls Steve made ... sundried tomato in green bowl and basil pesto in red bowl

My meatballs

Ric's salmon and pumpernickel bread bites
Steve's prawn toast

And Rachel or Helen was kind enough to send me these photos of the kids decorating the tree for Christmas up in Alstonville ...

And to give some idea of how much I ate today, here's a tweet from Christmas night ...
