365 Pink Feather Boas All in a Row - Day 141 (Saturday 22 May 2010) : Cakes For Two....Year Olds

We got to be kids again today!

Well sort of. What we did do was attend the birthday party for the kids of friends of ours - John (who has a lovely boyfriend, Adrian) and Essie - who turned two today. Both Ben and Sophie, the kids in question, and twins, are just delightful and cute as a shop full of buttons, enjoying ripping the paper off their gifts (although Sophie sub contracted it off to me!) loved the Fisher Price Animal Ville toys Steve & I got them (thanks to my friend Heather, super mum, for the suggestion!), and had a fine time playing with them.

The birthday cake was a series of mint cupcakes, covered in yummy chunky sprinkles, and dinner was corned beef, a delicious white sauce (cooked by my gorgeous guy), cabbage and potatoes/carrots. DELISH on all counts especially when cream was added on to the cupcakes!

We had an absolutely wonderful time seeing the kids, celebrating their big day with good friends, Fahmi, John (a different John to above), and Essie's lovely friend, Kylie (and her cute son, Felix), and eating so much food that dinner that night was dolmades and cheese-filled bell peppers.

Then we slept deep and long.... days with kids, no matter how deligthful, are exhausting!
