365 Pink Feather Boas All in a Row - Day 33 : Raining More Animals Than An Ark Has Occupants
I went to the movies last night. In the open. In the rain.
Not much first choice for weather admittedly - balmy sunny blue skies with a light cooling breeze off the Harbour is my preference - but the gods of the Open Air Cinema did not smile upon me or my friend, Warren, last night, and so as it teemed cats, dogs, a few suicidal lemmings, and one disoriented llama (no doubt dwept up somewhere over the Andes but who can be sure right?), we huddled under the massive tree that thankfully shielded us from the worst of the water-soaked animals, in our fabulously fashionable plastic ponchos.
Thankfully the movie was pretty good - 'The Informant' starring Matt Damon, who, my god, is sexy even when he's a tad overweight and has a mo' ! - a quirky fun exercise in one man's ability to self-deceive on a grand scale. It was delightfully eccentric, and the monologues that ran through Matt's character's fantastically un-self-aware mind were a highlight of the movie for me.
The good part was that the rain at least held off till we'd finished dinner - yummy fish and chips with a rocky road cheesecake - and cleared in time for the walk back to the car so no lasting harm was done.
I will, however, be checking the weather forecast closely for this Saturday's showing of "North by Northwest" just in case rain threatens once again....
