After a stop for pasties and a Neenish tart in East Kew, we headed off to Noah's AFL game and this time we were the lucky mascots with Noah's team, coached by Steve's brother Darren (Noah's dad) winning handsomely.
While we watched we chatted with Melissa, Matisse, Melissa's fabulous mum, and Brian and the kids who turned up fresh from Hugo's AFL game which sadly we didn't wake up in time to get to. (Noah's game was at 11.30am)
I had a ball and was so much fun to take part in some family activities.
Then off to the city via Glen Iris station (Carolyn gave us a lift after we dropped the car back)
Got off at Flinders Street Station for lunch with one of Steve's oldest and dearest friends Andrew at Transport Public Bar, Federation Square.
Back to the hotel room to rest and get ready for Steve's birthday dinner with just him and I ... and the giving of the birthday present which was very Cyndi Lauper-themed - 2 tickets to her 7 September concert at the Enmore Theatre, her autobiography in hardcover from USA and a specially pack of her CDs ...
First stop (via tram naturally) was a funkly fabulous tapas and vodka bar called Naked For Satan on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy with retro naked pics of men and women and a rooftop bar with view right down Brunswick Street. Each tapas was just $1 and the cocktails were YUM! Very romantic and lots of fun!
Then an awesomely yummy dinner at Blue Chillies restaurant where we had been once before. Apart from one other couple who left early on - we had an 8.30pm booking which I didn't think was especially late - we had the place to ourselves and the food, service and ambience was wonderful. Such a perfect birthday dinner night for my gorgeous guy.
