Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 329 - Birthday eve!

A fairly chilled day ... for me at least.

After a lovely sleep in and some birthday "fun", Steve headed off to run a million errands (poor guy - he is so tired from work) while I, dropped at Marrickville Metro, got my haircut, wandered through Kmart, bought some calendars (for me and presents) and groceries before walking home on what was a sunny but cool breezy day thankfully.

A quiet afternoon that involved a nap and some blogging - had to finish off one of my birthday blog posts before the big day - then off we set in Steve's car for The Green Room in Enmore, a funky retro-styled (old furniture, old music and fabulous fun and friendly service) bar ... LOVED IT!

Tricia and Gerald and Vivienne were there - till 7pm when licensing laws meant Vivi had to split - which was wonderful since they couldn't stay for dinner. Ian, Fahmi, Waz and Steve were also there ... and lots of fabulous presents!

Then after waiting for Ellen and Tracy we made it to the restaurant about 20 minutes late - it's way down the backstreets of Enmore - and settled for a night of fantastically delicious food (spicy hommous, Moroccan chicken - spicy in a light filo pastry - ladyfingers etc), wonderful conversation (loved the smaller more intimate group of 9) and the FABULOUSLY camp ice cream cake that Waz and Steve picked up from a gelato place in Croydon, along with pastel sparkly balloon table settings that matched the cake personally (the waitress, who was uber friendly and had tons of personality remarked on this, which pleased Steve no end - he has an eye for that kind of detail - and how much she'd loved working our table).

Then off to The Bank for a night cap - Ellen and Tracy headed home, and Justin, bless him, drove Aidan back home - and a lovely finish to the night before the walk home.
