More torrential rain....
So we packed up, checked out (but not before taking a photo of our favourite environmental sticker of all time, all the more hilarious because like so many hotels and motels elsewhere, they replace the towels every day regardless of what you do!) in pouring rain which made getting the suitcase, bags into the car so much fun!
Back to Mum & Dad's for a chilled morning, more time with my niece, the gorgeous Ms Z and her mum, more rides on the people mover (for Zara, not me!), more iPad figuring out time (goodness knows why the Wi-Fi kept dropping out), more Wiggles and children's TV, the last of the white chocolate crackles, delicious soup for lunch cooked in the slow cooker, and last photos with Zara and my Mum & Dad before my brother Steve drove us to the airport....

.... where we waited for 2 hours or so while our much delayed flight (delayed by the ash cloud over Melbourne and the terrible weather at Ballina) in a very small terminal, the only compensation being running into an old family friend I grew up with, Rachel and her two sisters, Bronwyn and Jill - great to catch up after 20 + years! After getting to the airport at 3pm, we finally made it into my apartment at close to 7.30 that night, making for a very long trip.
But we were hungry - my stomach waits for no one! - so we headed up to Alberto's Pizzeria on King Street, where we'd never been for great service, yummy garlic bread and pizzas, and a wonderfully relaxed finish to the day, and the weekend.
