Hands Full of Glitter and Tofu : 2011 Day 158 - MI SO....
Yes MISO!
Fabulous little Japanese restaurant in World Square - unfortunately in winter, for the people waiting for a table, located in a corridor to the street through which bitterly cold (why are winds described this way? Are they bitter because they're cold, or they just wish they were whizzing around Chicago instead? Just asking...) winds whistle loudly - with bright blue drinks called Sky High (langons and blue syrup and lemonade... much like a spider drink), and Katsu in all it's myriad very pork forms.
Delicious food, with oddly distracted service, and the great company of my friend Justin, with whom I bemoaned my lack of a decent career, he dissected his actual career (which frankly is going quite nicely... at least he had a meaningful job and study, no matter how much it is taking over his life), and once we were done getting sugar highs on our fun drinks, we visited his lovely boyfriend Cam at the store where he works (and where they display giant Lego models of the Sydney Harbour Bridge with pandas, yes pandas, on it)....
.... and then I forgot that after 8.30 the trains run every 1/2 hour to home. Yes in a world-class city like Sydney, trains run every 1/2 hour during the peak times of the night. Gotta love City rail.... I don't.
But did I let it place a dampener on my night? Hell to the no y'all! (OK I admit I probably didn't pull that off as a sentence but I like to try, no matter how epic the fail) I opened up that day's Sydney Morning Herald, plugged in the iPod, and waited 25 minutes till my train turned up. Good times!
