365 Pink Feather Boas All in a Row - Day 344 : Christmas at Work - Parts 1 & 2

It wasn't the most full on productive days at work but it was fun.

First up, I finally got the work Christmas decorations up and even though I didn't have the time to be as careful or design centric as last year (yes design centrism is uber-important when putting ye olde humble Christmas decorations), they look great and really lifted the look of the section I am in, especially as no other section has really made the effort to glitz up the cubicles o' death and overwork. A lot of work yes to get them up, but people really seem to appreciate it.

This was followed from about 1 p.m. by drinks and pizzas or self cooked steaks - I opted for pizza since standing over a hot BBQ plate in Summer weather is my idea of heat torture and I am way too young to sweat to death or melt, whichever comes first - at The Oaks, Neutral Bay, a funky pub I quite like, partly because all the male staff wear shirts and ties and looked tres chic. The dress sense of the pub staff aside, however, I had a lovely time talking with my colleagues who I don't really get a chance to talk to in the ordinary pell mell madness of CubicleLand. Lots of fun!

Finished off with a lift to North Sydney to catch the train with one other guy and he and I went to grab one drink before catching our trains which became 3 drinks. Somehow I made my train, didn't fall off the train when it got to Wynyard or on the platform (largely thanks to the Cokes I switched to back at The Oaks), and got home in time to chill for 2 or so hours before my gorgeous man got back from Bathurst.

Naturally, fitting in with the theme of the day we finished off with Thai at our favourite restaurant. Yes Thai.... nothing says baby born in a manger like spring rolls and soft shell crabs. Fa la la larb......
