Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 85 - Holidaying in the wild blue yonder Day 2

First full day out in the wilds of Barrington Retreat and naturally we started with a healthy holiday breakfast ... once we woke up that is (yay no alarm clock) ...

Then off to explore wineries in the Upper Hunter Valley near Scone ... about an hour's drive to get there ... lots of rocky dusty roads but both wineries Macquariedale Organic, where one of the owner's took a lot of time talking to us and giving us wine to taste, and Travertine Wines, where the attendant at their funky tasting area was incredibly friendly and helpful. Helped greatly that in the week leading up to Easter with most other wineries closed, we were the only ones there ... and yes we bought a LOT of wine ...

and the way back we stopped at a weedy overgrown verge that marked the mark that this was a unique bridge we were driving over. Apparently not so unique that its surrounds merit mowing ...

That night, the wallabies visited again, we met the resident possum and gecko, watched a divine sunset and Steve cooked up steaks (after another visit to Lovey's Super IGA in Dungog) while I made up the salad and cooked a microwave only potato bake that worked! Yay!

We had entrees beforehand on the balcony and then inside when the mozzies got too much, and Steve VERY romantically brought along the candle he secretly bought on the South Coast 18 months earlier for a romantic dinner on our October 2011 holiday to burn again on another holiday.

VERY sweet and romantic.
