Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 288 - Melbourne day 2

Today started all too early after our very late night / early morning - I didn't get to sleep till 2.30 am after Steve woke up getting back in  and we talked and cuddled - as we had to check out, get to breakfast, get some shopping done and be ready to meet Carolyn at 12.

But we managed it - brunch at C & B cafe in the lane leading up to the Block Arcade (my waffles were HUGE and attracted attention from passersby), some last minute pen shopping at Kikki K (we had bought brown envelopes for the kids' iTunes gift cards and needed a gold pen for them) and a last minute purchase by me at Minotaur ... and then a delayed Carolyn arrived (the traffic chaos caused by the marathon's road closures) and we were whisked to Steve's mum and dad's for a lovely afternoon with his family.

I adore seeing them - they're all beautiful, warm, friendly people and feel like they family they are. I love my Melbourne family and so good a time did I have that it took carolyn to remind us we had to leave for the airport!

Soap dispenser looks like a Dalek... too much Dr Who for me maybe?

LOVE the luminously bright yellow door

My beautiful man at the cafe

Both of us

Of course it's low fat!

Loved this graffiti in a carpark on the way back to hotel (Little Bourke Street)

Hotel entrance (our room directly after the bar in middle)

Just around from our hotel
