365 Pink Feather Boas All in a Row - Day 247 (Saturday 4 September) : Yum Cha Surprises and City Fun
I got to spend the entire day with my gorgeous guy and it was delightful.
My gorgeous guy and Tracy
Phil & Nicola
Ellen & I
We started off with Yum Cha with my close friends, Ellen, and Tracy (house mates and friends from ye old Church going days) at Marigold in the City, and as usual, the food was delicious (we managed to pace the eating this time around!), the conversation warm and fun, and we even got to check out Ellen's photos from her recent USA trip... well that was until the very officious female maitre d' asked us to to leave the able (we long since ceased eating) to make way for the next round of customers who she brought to the table. Rude, but we could only laugh about it and leave. After all no one ever goes to Yum Cha for the warm service!
The lovely surprise of the morning was running to old friend Phillip and Nicola and their extended family. I had seen Phil earlier in the year for dinner, but catch ups are few and far between because he lives in Wollongong and staying the City for dinner with a friend means a very late arrival home. It was wonderful to see them!
We kissed Ellen, and Tracy goodbye and headed off to buy birthday gifts at Kinokuniya (the bext bookstore ever!), wander through Dymocks while my gorgeous guy spent his birthday vouchers, and pick up his mail at Circular Quay, just before a quiet wine and the train trip home.
It was a luxurious, meandering afternoon that was such a change of pace from the busy rush-rush-rush of late, and I am so glad we got to spend it together.
