Holding the Reins of the Runaway Extrovert 2013: Day 18 - The movie that wasn't
First night at the Open Air Cinema tonight and it didn't quite go according to plan.
It was a #heatwave day when the mercury hit 46.8 - hottest day ever in Sydney - and I left work early, got into line at 4.20pm at The Open Air Cinema, and though there was a little bit of rain, nothing much came of it, and mercifully the line was shaded and a cool breeze blew for the most part (I also got air con trains from Milsons Point to Wynyard and then Wynyard to St James which was a miracle).
Waz joined me about 5pm-ish and Ian, Fahmi and Peter shortly thereafter (Steve was coming in from Bathurst and got there about 8pm) and we enjoyed a delicious dinner and wine and Mojitos (of course I had my usual fish and chips!) and settled in for the movie, Seven Psychopaths, just after a very gusty cool change hit 10 minutes before 8.
Unfortunately it was way too gusty and they had to cancel the screening when the screen refused to rise (it had a smart sensor which stops it going up if it is too windy), only the second time it had been cancelled in its history ... hilariously, Peter and I were there on that other occasion! (The culprit that time was a massive thunderstorm.)
