Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 343 - Ye grand old epic Christmas picnic

We had a FRANTIC morning getting there - racing around Marrickville Metro grabbing groceries, quiches, wine and last minute supplies before heading back to Steve's to make the Santa Brownies, and decorate the shortbread Christmas trees I'd bought at Coles the night before with melted white chocolate and red and green sugar balls (that Steve painstakingly sorted from a rainbow of colours)  - but we finally got to Sydney Park at 12.30 with all the food, drinks, the table, chairs and tent.

Waz helped us set it all up and Essie and Steve M arrived just in time to help put the Lolly Trees together and sort all the food into a pretty festive table.

And then we chilled.

We'd picked a spot up in the trees that Steve felt would end up well shaded as the day went on and that was exactly the case with shade covering the tent and our myriad of seats and blankets all day as Steve and I hosted a picnic with Fahmi, Waz, Ian, Justin, Tricia & Gerald and sweet little Vivienne, and Essie, John and the kids.

We stayed till about 6.30 and it was a gloriously chilled perfect day where we got to just stop and enjoy time with very special friends in the middle of the frantic Christmas rush.
