Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 347 - All the new ornaments

It's the 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF MY TREE!

Way back in 1992, after two years in Sydney and really missing having a tree of my own, I bought a 4ft tall tree from Kmart - replaced a couple of years later by the current 6ft tall one - about 6-8 Hallmark ornaments (which I fell in love with immediately because they were so cute and different to anything that existed in Australia at the time, and really to some extent, still does) and number of Sesame Street and other cheap little ornaments, coloured cotton-wrapped ornaments and tinsel.

I was so excited and felt like it was another step in my growing up.

I spent what felt like a fortune at the time - $500 on everything - but boy did it feel worth it!

So to mark the occasion here's a number of the older 1992 vintage ornaments mixed in with this year's crop of newbies.

I have loved having my tree up every December (and yes some Julys) and can't wait to keep celebrating Christmas with my very own pop culture Christmas tree!
