Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 195 - Friday 13th ... and early Bastille Day
I am not even remotely suspicious, happily walking under ladders carrying a jet black cat as I open an umbrella indoors.
Yep I am that kind of guy.
But still I had to wonder what was going on today when all the Cityrail trains from Bankstown were stopped by a broken down train, and so everyone at St Peters had to pile onto the Bondi Junction trains from The Shire, which were already full.
A fun game of sardines ensured. What fun!
Fortunately my first ever author interview for work - with Rebecca Huntley who wrote The Italian Girl - went very well so clearly the entire day was not doomed to failure.
Then we celebrated Bastille Day one day early since none of us are in the office on a Saturday (well unless there's a class one but that's only briefly and isn't all of us anyway). We had Part 1 at lunch with baguettes, ham, cheese, rocket and avocado and cheeses (including a delicious French garlic one) and Part 2 about 4pm when we had ginormous almond croissants and dark chocolate French biscuits. Maydah from the cafe joined us for arvo tea.
Si c'est bon!
I started early about 11.30 with a croissant and this dark chocolate/white chocolate mousse from St Honore bakery. YUM! |
I played a couple of minutes of the French national anthem to get us in the mood |
With my lovely colleagues Danielle and Tracy (Rose was on holidays and Valerie, my boss, was home sick). |
Grabbed these at St Honore bakery in North Sydney |
