Up to Alstonville via the Gold Coast this morning.
Helen met Steve and I at the airport, and we drove straight to Mum and Dad's place via the motel to check in.
The plan was to spend the afternoon at the Macadamia Castle looking at the animals with Bodhi and Zara but the rain that had been around for days intensified and so we spent the day playing with Bodhi and Zara - who to my delight warmed to me and Steve very quickly - cooking that night's birthday dinner for Rachel, and eating the delicious Asian influenced dinner with gorgeous fish curry, Mum's fried rice, a stir fry and of course a birthday cake.
If I had to be housebound this was the place to do it - with the man I love, the family I love and the warmth of home.
