Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 126 - Lots of food and friendship

Big day out!

First we headed to Eastwood for a delayed lunch with my good friend from Optus days, Tricia and her lovely hubby, Gerald, and their vivacious, cuter-than-cute daughter, Vivienne. We arrived with a bunch of roses for Tricia and a packet of Roses chocolates for Gerald (we loved out little joke although it took a lot of effort to get the chocs; they closes Marrickville Metro because of a power shutdown just as we parked and it took us ages to escape the gridlock and then find a 7-11 that actually stocked those chocolates) and had a wonderful time catching up with two of the loveliest warmest people I know.

The tapas food Tricia prepared was awesomely good and the paella was the most perfect I had ever tatsed. And dessert? Oh my lord - the flan, which is a Filipino version of Creme Caramel left its gallic counterpart in the dust - and the white wine sangria that accompanied all this food was so refreshingly. They went to so much trouble for us and we had the best afternoon catching up with them.

Then we scooted off to Fahmi's for a BBQ dinner. It started off as just a Saturday thing to do but because a celebration of sorts when Fahmi revealed to me a couple of days before that it was his 20th anniversary in Australia the following week. So we gave him a special pressing of two Supremes songs including "Baby Love" released for World Record Store Day on April 21, in the shape of a bright red heart, and a card and made a fuss of this big anniversary!

We also had an old friend drop by, Mylos, who is in town for 6 weeks staying with an old friend of mine and Ian's, Toby. With Toby out of town, Mylos was at a loose end and I invited him along. Along with Peter and Steve M, and Fahmi's lovely friend Dorothy, we had a great night that only ended when exhaustion got the better of Steve and I.
