Easter Sunday started as it always does - with the exchanging of our Easter baskets to each other. I love this tradition - it's only four Easters old but it is so lovely to see the delight on his face when I give his basket. This year's theme was blue - blue Easter dinosaur (he went down a treat!), a bobble head blue bunny with easter eggs in a tube below him, blue-metallic wrapped chocolate Bilbies, a blue car-shaped egg cup (bought at Woolies the night before because it was cute and blue and he loves his boiled eggs), a blue metallic-wrapped Ernest Hillier egg, and a scattering of blue Lindt eggs. All very blue.
His present to me was gorgeous. Haigh's which is an Adelaide brand, had the most exquisitely colourful wrapping on its eggs... and I got an egg cup too in the most stylish shade of chocolate brown (naturally). And I got me a giant Haigh's Bilby!! We have a thing for Bilbies since rabbits, cute though they are, are feral and Bilbies are native so it makes sense that we support the native over the import. Besides Bilbies are enormously cute in their own right!
Steve also threw on the bunny ears I was planning to wear when I bought in my gift but forgot. He looked very cute. (I also managed to sneak in a 1000m swim before the calorie flood began which made me feel a little better about all the eating that followed.)
After a lovely lazy morning, we headed to John and Essie's place for the annual, and much loved Easter egg hunt and hot cross bun fest. They invited a bunch of new friends too this year, as well as Fahmi, Stephe M, and Barbara and her mother, and they were lovely. We had a ball drinking cider, eating hotdogs, seeing the kids find the eggs that were hidden, eating hot cross buns (including giant ones that Essie bought in Waterloo) and whiling away a lazy afternoon in the most wonderful way possible.

Steve & I got the kids wombat and kangaroo stamps that they loved and stamped EVERYWHERE - all over mum and dad mainly! |

We gave them gift bags full of eggs and they loved it. Very cute bags. |

Fahmi got this cool cake at Pastizzi Cafe. It was almond cake - delicious. |
Finished off the day with a movie -
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen - at Broadway with Waz, Ian, Peter, my gorgeous guy and Fahmi followed by a delicious dinner at Matee on King Street. Awesome catch up with the gang!
