Swimming Pretty in the Glass-Half-Full 2012: Day 64 - Visions of Celluloid

My friend Jason is in town so that means one thing - MOVIE MARATHON!

We both love movies, and while we have scaled down since our glory days of three movies in a day - after the infamous Renee Zellweger movie of which no more will be said - we did go to see two, but sensibly spaced apart. My gorgeous guy Steve came along too which was wonderful as hand holding in a dark cinema is one of the great perks of movie going as a couple.

Jason ready for the first movie. (I actually tried to get a Smurf from the machine next to me, and surprise, surprise, it didn't work! LOL)

First up was My Weekend With Marilyn, which was brilliant. A lovely glimpse of the closest thing we will likely get to the real Marilyn Monroe. (You can read my review here.) Then after lunch at Bacco cafe  on the upper level of QVB, where the food and service was lovely (contrary to my expectations since a lot of the City-based cafes tend to be drab and unimaginative and skewed to tourists). Then we wandered through the shops on the top level which is always fun.

Then off to The Vow, which wasn't as good as the first movie since it wasn't sure if it was a romantic comedy or a drama, but still very enjoyable. (You can read my review here.).

I think Steve is happy to be there!

Last stop after a drive back from the City - we saw both movies at Event Cinemas, George Street - was The Bank for a farewell drink which was awesome. We got seats at the window benches and walked a (VERY) attractive world go by.

My beautiful man waiting to buy drinks

It was so good to see Jason, and spend some time with him. What a good friend!
